About

Anel Hayet Salomón Abdala is a Mexican designer with Lebanese heritage born and raised in Mexico City. She studied Textile Design in her home country, and from an early stage in her studies, she knew she wanted to launch her own brand of accessories with a special emphasis in having a social impact. She wanted to help people who live in poor conditions and with scarce resources in vulnerable communities.
After finishing her undergraduate studies, she continued to pursue her dream and decided to complete a masters in Accessories Design at Politecnico di Milano - Polimi in Milan, Italy. There, she had the opportunity to live in one of world´s capitals of fashion and realized there aren’t any Mexican brands around the world who embrace the Mexican culture from a high end and innovative perspective.
Knowing that the business side plays a key role to succeed as an entrepreneur, she got out of her comfort zone to study an MBA in Fashion Industries at ESDEN Business School in Madrid, Spain. By doing this, she gained a much better understanding of the business she wanted to do.
After her experience abroad she returned to Mexico City to go straight into one of the best entrepreneur academies for women in the country called Victoria 147 where her brand experienced a 180-degree turn.
Since then, she has focused on creating new products and certifying her company with renowned associations that evaluate the practice of fair trade and corporate responsibility, to truly make a difference in the lives of people who are involved in all the projects.

Her aim is to take the brand Hayet Abdala and represent Mexico worldwide with pride by enhancing the values of her country and always giving the recognition to the indigenous communities and artisans who make the collections possible.
Some of her most important showcases and recognitions are:
  • Awarded as a Responsible Company who practices Fair Trade by Arte Yawi Foundation which is validated by the UNESCO.
  • Invited as exhibitor at INTERMODA 2021 in Guadalajara, Mexico in through the Fashion Group International Mexico.
  • Ambassador for the Victoria 147 Academy Program "100 Women Entrepreneurs"
  • Placed 2nd at the BBVA Pitch Contest in Collaboration with Victoria 147 Academy.
